| On
this page you will find a list of services that are available either
on a regular basis, or ones I offer periodically. Most of them can
be arranged for on an individual basis to suit your particular interest
or needs. Please call 734-623-4444, email sarisolden@aol.com,
fax 734-663-2415 or write PO Box 3320 Ann Arbor, MI 48106 for information.
My
areas of specialization, whether counseling, consulting, speaking,
or writing include, women's issues, inattentive AD/HD, the emotional
legacy of not being diagnosed as a child, and effective counseling
approaches for adult's with AD/HD. My orientation is one that looks
at the long term challenges affected by AD/HD such as one's self
image, relationships and identity.
If
you aren't familiar with my philosophy or perspective you may want
to take a look at my books, Women with
ADD and Journeys Through ADDulthood.
For
a more in depth look at close to 20 years of my experience working
with adults with AD/HD and training and speaking and writing on
this subject you may want to view my Welcome
Page and/or my Appearances and
News Page.

DIRECT SERVICES TO ADULTS WITH AD/HD
Counseling
- My approach to counseling for AD/HD is first and foremost a
partnership between my client and myself. I view my brand of counseling
for AD/HD adults as a combination of counseling, consulting, navigating,
coaching, guiding, and teaching. I focus my intervention where
psychology meets your neurology - that means where your internal
barriers prevent you from taking the steps you might need to take
in order to move ahead in life and make good choices.
The
first step is to call for an intake conversation with my assistant
to help me understand your individual needs so I can make a recommendation
on how to proceed. At this time you can also get more information
on the process and procedures. I may refer you elsewhere at this
point to begin if I feel you need other services first or that
you would be better served by starting in a different way.
If
we do decide to a meet, I always start with a one time 90 minute
overview session to give you my perspective or a blueprint for
you or us to work from.
This
session may result in ongoing, periodic, long or short term work
together, and/or a referral for a medication or assessment consultation,
to fill in other particular pieces of the puzzle with me continuing
to navigate.
Counseling
may be individual, in groups/classes, for couples or a combination
of these.
